• Cameroon enters 3 teams, 17 riders in 25th Chantal Biya cycling race.
• Six other nations, including France, Netherlands, join Sept. 10-14 event.
• Belgium’s Wesley defends 2024 title; Cameroon eyes home podium.

Cameroon will be represented by three squads at the 25th edition of the Chantal Biya International Cycling Grand Prix, a race on the International Cycling Union (UCI) calendar held in honor of the country’s First Lady. The event will run from Sept. 10 to 14 over a total distance of 625.5 kilometers.

The national federation, Fecacyclisme, confirmed that 17 riders will compete under the national team, SNH Vélo Club and Espoir Mboa U23. The lineup was finalized after a two-week training camp.

Among the riders is Steve Ngueguim of SNH Vélo Club, who recently won the 2025 Tour of Côte d’Ivoire. He will be joined by teammates Jérémie Kossoko Sadikou, Clovis Kamzong Abossolo, Fabrice Chofor and Rodrigue Kuere Nounawe — all of whom placed in the top 15 of that same race. Fecacyclisme said those results point to strong potential at this year’s event.

In addition to Cameroon, six countries will compete: Mauritius, Central African Republic, Côte d’Ivoire, the Netherlands, Slovakia and France, which will field two teams. Ten squads will start overall. The opening stage, 101.2 km between Akono and Lolodorf, is set for Sept. 10, following the official team presentation in Yaoundé on Sept. 9.

Belgium’s Van Dyck Wesley, winner of the 2024 edition, returns as defending champion. Cameroon’s best performance last year came from Rodrigue Kuere Nounawe, who placed ninth in the general classification, while SNH Vélo Club ranked third in the team standings.
