Cameroon won the UNIFFAC zonal qualifying tournament, held from Feb. 17 to March 2, 2026, in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, securing qualification for the U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

On Friday, Feb. 27, at Stade Tata Raphaël in Kinshasa’s Kalamu district, the Indomitable Lionlets defeated DR Congo’s U17 side 2-0. Rony Balang opened the scoring in the 10th minute, and Arnold Massekon sealed the win just after the break in the 49th.

The victory allowed Cameroon to defend its regional title after winning the previous edition at home, continuing the country's strong performances at youth level.

By finishing first, Cameroon qualified for the U17 AFCON. Runner-up DR Congo also secured a place at the tournament, with both teams set to represent the UNIFFAC zone.

The 2026 title builds on a dominant 2025 campaign in which Cameroon won all three group-stage matches by wide margins: 9-0 against the Central African Republic, 7-1 against Gabon and 6-0 against DR Congo. The Lionlets also swept all individual awards at that tournament.
